My first songbook titled Smiles and Frowns, Life's Ups Its Downs! was self-published in 1970 while I was attending college at Boston University. Back then we used typewriters; anyone remember those? The paper size was 6" wide X 8.5" length. It features songs written between 1965 and 1970. These were political times; hence I wrote a lot of political songs. In 1993, I published Making Up Music which includes 27 songs from my first songbook plus 11 new songs.
